Arise

Rise then unto that for which thou wast created.

Bahá’u’lláh, The Arabic Hidden Words 22

Verily, we behold you from Our realm of glory, and shall aid whosoever will arise for the triumph of Our Cause with the hosts of the Concourse on high and a company of Our favoured angels.

Bahá’u’lláh, Kitáb-i-Aqdas, para. 53

If we but turn our gaze to the high qualifications of the members of Bahá’í Assemblies . . . we are filled with feelings of unworthiness and dismay, and would feel truly disheartened but for the comforting thought that if we rise to play nobly our part every deficiency in our lives will be more than compensated by the all-conquering spirit of His grace and power.

Shoghi Effendi, Bahá’í Administration, p. 88

The movement itself from place to place, when undertaken for the sake of God, hath always exerted, and can now exert, its influence in the world.

Shoghi Effendi, The Advent of Divine Justice, p. 84

To have faith, to become humble and to raise one's voice in prayer and glorification of God are not sufficient prerequisites for drawing on the power of Bahá’u’lláh. There is yet another vital condition which the individual must fulfil, namely, to arise to serve the Cause. If he does not act, the channels of grace will remain closed and no amount of devotion to Bahá’u’lláh or humility before Him can release the powers from on high. The very act of arising is, in itself, bound to attract the confirmations of Bahá’u’lláh. In many of His Tablets Bahá’u’lláh has assured His followers that if they arise with faith and devotion to promote His Cause, the unseen hosts of His confirmations will descend upon them and make them victorious.

Adib Taherzadeh, The Child of the Covenant, p. 158

Whosoever ariseth to aid Our Cause", is Bahá’u’lláh's Own emphatic promise, "God will render him victorious over ten times ten thousand souls, and, should he wax in his love for Me, him will We cause to triumph over all that is in heaven and all that is on earth." "Let trust in God be his shield, and reliance on God his provision, and the fear of God his raiment. Let patience be his helper, and praiseworthy conduct his succourer, and goodly deeds his army. Then will the Concourse on High sustain him. Then will the denizens of the Kingdom of Names march forth with him, and the banners of Divine guidance and inspiration be unfurled on his right hand and before him.
